Sandy Ring, Founder and President
Sandy Ring is the founder and President of Pikewerks Corporation. She has more than ten years of experience developing new techniques of protecting systems and data from malicious activities. She was a contributing author for the Network Security Bible, an author of Cyber-Spying, and the book Insider Threat: Protecting the Enterprise from Sabotage, Spying, and Theft. Previously, Ms. Ring was the Deputy Director for Research at the Advanced Technology Research Center, The Sytex Group Incorporated (now Lockheed Martin). There she guided a team of professionals on the cutting edge of computer and network security research and development. In this position she was the principal inventor on five patent-pending technologies including rootkit detection, volatile memory forensics, intrusion self-healing, and a zero configuration network design.
Michael Ring, CEO/CFO
Michael Ring graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering. After college, he applied his engineering skills in the Navy's Nuclear Power Program, serving on ballistic missile and fast attack submarines. During this time, he also completed his certification as Engineer Officer and secured one of the few junior positions in the Office of the Vice Chief of Naval Operation's Special Operations Program, the Defense Liaison Division (DLD). While at DLD, Mr. Ring served as a Special Project Manager and was responsible for conceptualizing, developing, testing and deploying innovative, one of kind capabilities. After resigning his commission in 1998, he joined the Government as a contracting officer technical representative (COTR) and managed/negotiated several multi-million dollar operational support contracts. Mr. Ring has his Masters of Science in Project Management from The George Washington University's nationally recognized School of Business and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Irby Thompson Jr., COO
Irby Thompson has over eight years experience in computer security including research into software exploitation techniques, analysis of rootkit technologies, and advanced software protection. Before joining Pikewerks in 2006, Irby was a Senior Security Engineer for the Advanced Technology Labs of Lockheed Martin. In that position he was responsible for a number of complex cyber-security programs and initiatives. He has a strong background in security research, operating systems development, information operations, and is a recognized leader in the field, speaking at security conferences such as Blackhat and Defcon. Irby currently performs as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Pikewerks, and actively manages much of the company's day-to-day operations, business development, and technical research and development. Irby holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, and Management of Technology from Vanderbilt University and a Masters degree in Information Security from Georgia Tech.Jonathan Kline, CTO
Mr. Jonathan Kline is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Pikewerks and lead developer of Electronic Armor. He has extensive experience in computer and network security including: static and run-time binary analysis, Linux kernel rootkits, code obfuscation, and binary encryption. His creative approaches and extensive experience with the Linux kernel have been instrumental in the successful development of Electronic Armor®. Mr. Kline holds a Bachelors of Computer Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
