Pikewerks protects IT systems from hackers, helps detect intruders
Just because Pikewerks develops software that accomplishes some pretty serious tasks doesn't mean its employees take life too seriously.
Take the brightly painted walls of the company's downtown Madison office. Or the Foosball table flanked by two leather sofas, just a few feet from a wall-mounted wooden cabinet that houses a dart board.
"We're just trying to do something a little creative," said Sandy Ring, founder and president of Pikewerks.
Pikewerks develops software that secures information technology systems from hackers who would try to get into company networks. Its products help keep an intruder from taking product secrets and using them to copy and sell pirated versions. Pikewerks also writes software that can help the user detect and analyze intruders.
